Uninsured in decline
New survey suggests Obamacare is working
A survey released a week after the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s open-enrollment deadline reveals that the number of uninsured Americans has dropped by 1.5 percentage points from the last quarter of 2013 to the first quarter of 2014. According to Gallop, 15.6 percent of U.S. residents remain uninsured. That’s down from an all-time high of 18 percent in the third quarter of 2013. Here’s how the results shook out, by various age groups.
