Tour de Chico Palio race leaves competition in the dust This article was published on 09.15.11 Participants at this year’s Chico Palio, the kickoff event for Artoberfest, took the fake-horse-foot-race a little too seriously, as evidenced by a couple of runners falling on the hot pavement while rounding a corner this past Saturday. They weren’t the only ones, though—a man had to be taken away on a stretcher after a more serious fall that left a gash on his forehead.
