This bites!

The West Nile virus is taking its toll this year, and California has more confirmed cases than any other state, with 108. Last year at this time, there had been a mere 38 cases—and peak mosquito season is just beginning. Here are the numbers of human cases, by county, as of Tues., Aug. 14.
