The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters
A book of letters, Elisabeth Robinson’s latest is an intimate look at a woman facing some of life’s great challenges. Olivia Hunt is working to produce a film after being unceremoniously fired by her jealous boss at a film studio. Hunt’s letters, emails and faxes threaten unhelpful doctors, tell off the head of a film studio and examine what went wrong with her lover. Challenges abound: being broke and staying in a friend’s basement office; filming on location in Spain and dealing with writers, directors and actors; caring for her hospitalized sister, who has cancer; trying to patch things up with her lover and falling apart while trying to keep it all together. Hunt teeters between being optimistic and pessimistic, insecure and arrogant, yet remains funny, smart and compassionate while wading through these different environments.
