Oroville’s Birdcage Theatre kicks off its 2001-2002 season with its production of Frederick Knott‘s suspenseful thriller Wait Until Dark. The story centers around the attempts of a murderer and two ex-cons to recover a doll stuffed with smuggled drugs. In a scene from the show, the beautiful and blind Suzy (Kim Bertoglio) is menaced by the brutal and beastly Roat (Mark Alan Johnston). Directed by Marianne Knorzer. Opens Friday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. Continues Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 6, with two Sunday matinees Sept. 30 and Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. Tickets: $8, general; $20, special Saturday night dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m., Sept. 22, 29, and Oct. 6.
