Two photography shows and a special evening of film and commentary concerning the Northern California environment are currently offered at the Chico Museum, 141 Salem St., in downtown Chico. Photographs of the Sacramento River (one pictured here) by Geoff Fricker are displayed in a show entitled Air, Water and Cultural Currents. Photography by Bob Dawson is also exhibited as Awakening from the California Dream, with historical interpretations by Gray Brechin. Thursday, Dec. 6, 7-9 p.m., Emmy and Sundance Award-winning filmmaker Judy Irving shows her documentaries Partners on the Land and Secrets of the Bay; CSUC historian Dr. Mike Gillis lectures on The Environmental Transformation of the Sacramento Valley.
