The new prophet of reggae?
With a powerful commitment to humanitarian efforts and the desire to re-expand the music’s once-generous vision, Luciano just may be the new prophet of reggae. Hailing originally from Manchester parish, Jamaica, former upholsterer Jephter McClymount was renamed “Luciano” because of his nigh operatic abilities as a vocalist. His latest CD release is A New Day, and you can see the man in person at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at The Brick Works, 191 East Second St. 895-7700. Tickets: $15, advance.
