The California Integrated Waste Management Board announced it has a new online process for applying for the Waste Reduction Awards Program. Going paperless, the board said in a statement, is “an effort to save natural resources and make it easier and faster for California businesses and private nonprofits to apply.”

In other words, an organization that’s rewarded waste reduction for 15 years is just now getting rid of paper applications.
