Teen still missing

Search continues for Orland runaway

A 14-year-old Orland girl is still listed as a runaway more than two weeks after she vanished after visiting Orland Bowl with a friend.

Carly Michaels was last seen around 2:30 p.m. July 26 outside the bowling alley. Five days later, she posted messages on Facebook, indicating she was safe. The teen did not reveal her whereabouts, and has not answered phone or text messages since her disappearance. Friends and family think she might be staying with a friend in Chico, Corning, Napa or Oregon.

There is no indication of foul play, said Sgt. J.C. Tolle of the Orland Police Department. Michaels (pictured) is petite and has brown eyes, long brown hair with highlights and a red birthmark on the back of one knee. She wears heavy eyeliner and tends to play with her eyebrows. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact Orland police at 865-1616.
