Target practice

Chico’s neighborhood parks will see some new activity over the summer, with the addition of disc-golf targets at several locations.

Approved by the Bidwell Park and Playground Commission and the Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD), the plan to install 18 targets divided among six parks in Chico will take place in the next few months.

Already, targets have gone up at Peterson Park, which is located in northwest Chico at Denali Drive and Rollins Lake Drive. Disc-golf enthusiasts group Outside Recreation Advocacy Inc. (ORAI) is responsible for the construction of the facilities.

The other parks scheduled for installation of three targets each include Community, Wildwood, Hancock, Husa Ranch/Nob Hill and Baroni.
