Police investigating shooting at weekend party on Cedar Street
A large party on Cedar Street turned violent last weekend when a 25-year-old Chicoan, whose identity has been withheld, was shot following a “conflict between partygoers.”
In the early morning on Sunday (Dec. 13), police began receiving reports of a shooting in the parking lot at 1205 N. Cedar St., according to a Chico Police Department press release. On the scene, police found one gunshot victim. The wound was “initially life-threatening,” but the victim's condition was stabilized “because of prompt and effective medical treatment.”
The victim was taken to Enloe Medical Center.
More than a dozen shots were fired, the release notes, striking multiple vehicles and surrounding buildings. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing; anyone with information is encouraged to call 897-4900.
