CUSD board gives Staley a three-year deal
Delivering a vote of confidence and job security, the Chico Unified School District board has extended the term of service for Superintendent Kelly Staley by three years, until 2021.
Staley (pictured) was promoted to interim superintendent in 2007 with the departure of Chet Francisco after just 21 months. Chico’s first woman superintendent, she’s held the job outright since 2008. Previously she’d been a CUSD assistant superintendent for six years.
The school board approved her new contract at its July 18 meeting.
