Strong bonds …
Two Rooms, written by playwright Lee Blessing (A Walk in the Woods), is the next show opening at the Blue Room Theatre, located at 139 West Second St., in downtown Chico. The “two rooms” of the political drama’s title refer to a cell in Beirut where terrorists hold an American hostage, and to the man’s study back in the U.S. where his wife has removed all the furniture attempting to maintain an emotional connection with her husband. Here, actors Elizabeth Collings and Joe Hilsee’s characters strengthen their bonds through the wife’s imagination. Directed by local veteran actor-director Hugh Brashear. Show plays at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, through Aug. 31; actors benefit show: Sunday, Aug. 25. Tickets: $10 general; $8 senior or student; all seats only $5 every Thursday.
