Stranger than fiction?

Strong narrative content in its lyrics and clever melodies are said to be what distinguishes Burlington, Vermont band Strangefolk, playing The Brick Works, 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7. Pictured left to right are vocalist/guitarist Luke Montgomery, vocalist/bassist Erik Glockler, vocalist/guitarist Jon Trafton, drummer Luke Smith and keyboardist Scott Shdeed. The group is currently promoting its latest CD release on What the Folk Records, Open Road. Frankly, their CD reminds these ears of The Grateful Dead, more or less, and every other sort of laid-back, loose vibe band you can shake a VW van at.
