Stop, vandals!
Reward offered in BB-gun shootouts in Durham
A recent string of BB-gun related vandalism in Durham has some residents concerned—and at least one family member upset enough to do something about it. Oregonian Marvin Parker, whose father lives in Durham, said his family’s home was hit by BB-gun fire that took out windows, costing a pretty penny to replace. Other incidents in the community have included car windows being shot out.
“Vandalism is one of those crimes that affects the neighborhood through fear and economic impacts,” Parker said by phone.
So, what’s he going to do about it? He’s personally offering a $200 reward to anyone who gives information to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office that leads to an arrest.
“I don’t expect the police to use their resources investigating property crimes,” he said. Anyone with information on the vandalism should call BCSO at 538-7321.
