Craft brew is a major economic driver in California
While craft brewers are still very much underdogs in the national beer industry, they do inject serious money into state economies—especially here in California. According to the Brewers Association, not only does California have the most craft breweries (431) of any state, the total $6.9 billion impact on California's economy is tops in the nation, as well. In terms of sheer brew produced, the Golden State cranks out 3.4 million barrels a year. That's 3.9 gallons for every adult of drinking age in the state.
