Stabbing on campus
Knife fight sends two homeless men to hospital
Citizens driving through downtown on Sunday evening (Jan. 7) may have noticed a police commotion. University Police Department officers were responding to a knife fight between two homeless men on the Chico State campus that sent the pair to the hospital with minor wounds.
William Veaver and Joshua Stoecklein allegedly stabbed each other between the Physical Science Building and Big Chico Creek around 5:40 p.m. University spokesman Sean Murphy said there was no information about what motivated the attack. Neither man was a student.
