This disturbingly funny film takes you on a wild three-day binge with a group of speed freaks. College dropout Ross (Jason Schwartzman) gets involved with a meth cook (Mickey Rourke) and becomes an errand boy for him and his girlfriend (Brittany Murphy). It is lighter than Requiem for a Dream but with similar camera tricks. It takes a sober turn near the end when you see what the character’s addictions have cost them. The movie has a clever B-list cast, which also includes John Leguizamo, Mena Suvari and cameos by Rob Halford and Billy Corgan. Warning: Do not watch late at night if you have trouble sleeping. It will keep you up for days.
