Laura Joplin (pictured), younger sister of ’60s rock icon Janis Joplin talked about her sister’s life and influence at a book reading last Saturday night at Lyon Books in downtown Chico. The occasion was the re-release of her book, Love, Janis, a bio of her famous sibling woven together with pictures, personal recollections and letters from Janis. Currently a Chico resident, Laura is married to Sierra Nevada Big Room promoter Bob Litell. Another reading is planned for Thurs., Oct. 20, 7 p.m. at the Chico Barnes and Noble.
