She’s outta here
Eri Yoshida traded to Maui a week after signing with the Chico Outlaws
If you blinked, you may have missed pitcher Eri Yoshida’s return to Chico.
Just a week after her very popular season debut for the Chico Outlaws in an 8-4 win against Maui Na Koa Ikaika on July 22 at Nettleton Stadium, Yoshida (pictured) was traded to the same team she helped beat. Maui Manager Gary Templeton, former manager of the Chico Outlaws, was quick to work out a deal with Chico Manager and Team President Mike Marshall after seeing Yoshida’s improvement.
On Aug. 2, the “knuckle princess” headed to Maui, where she was reunited with five fellow former Chico Outlaws with whom she played in the 2010 championship season.
Chicoans will see Yoshida in her new uniform when Maui returns to Chico at the end of August. The Outlaws finish up their current series against the Yuma Scorpions tonight in Chico before heading to Alberta, Canada, to face the Calgary Vipers. The Outlaws are now third in the North American Baseball League, with a record of 34-38 as of press time.
