Sex and the septuagenarian
Senior citizens need lovin’, too
Senior citizens are sexing it up more than their grandchildren may wish to imagine. The latest addition to a mountain of research proving this is a UK study by the University of Manchester and NatCen Social Research, which found that, of the 7,000 subjects studied, 31 percent of women and 54 percent of men over the age of 70 said they were still sexually active. One-third reported having “frequent” (at least twice monthly) sex. This isn’t news to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has reported a boom in sexually transmitted diseases in seniors since 2007, with syphilis up 52 percent and chlamydia up 32 percent.
