Rural clinics to expand
North State farm workers and low-income families may find easier access to health care thanks to two grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Del Norte Clinics will receive $608,333 for the Migrant Health Center it is opening in Arbuckle this year and $600,000 to add evening hours at clinics in Orland, Hamilton City and Gridley. During peak migrant season, April to October, new doctors will staff the smaller clinics in Gridley (La Paloma) and Hamilton City; the physicians will move to the larger facilities in Gridley and Orland during the winter.
