Prince Charles uses MySpace to save the rainforests
The Prince of Wales is getting his MySpace on in the name of the environment.
Yes, Prince Charles, heir apparent, is using the social-networking Web site to establish a grassroots community aimed at saving the world’s rainforests. The goal is to get that effort together by the time world leaders meet near the end of the year in Copenhagen, Denmark to discuss climate change.
In a video posted on MySpace, the prince talks about the importance of making trees more valuable alive than dead and the impending threat to the planet: “Unless we protect the rainforest, we will most certainly lose the battle against catastrophic climate change,” he said.
The segment is filled with everyday people and prominent activists and leaders, including Harrison Ford and the Dalai Lama.
