Rocked with Gina Gershon

This highly entertaining reality series follows actress Gina Gershon (Demon Lover, Palmetto) and her band (members of Girls Against Boys) touring in support of the indie film Prey for Rock and Roll, in which she plays none other than a genuine rock and roll star! While Gina can sing (albeit copping Chrissie Hynde) and adequately plays guitar, Rocked finds Gina plumbing much of the posturing that is easy to detest as the narcissistic-rock-star blueprint. A lifetime of Poison videos has taught us that life on the road is hard: Gina’s favorite stage prop, a riding crop she swats against the drum kit’s cymbal, breaks and must be replaced by an assistant. Gina gets worms. Drummer Alex Fleisig dubs the plush-lipped wonder L.L. Cool G (Lesbians Love Cool Gina). The moniker is made truth by the ecstatic wealth of female fans jamming the clubs wide-eyed and worshipping as if Gina’s physical attributes translate to talent of a level merely suggested by Liverpool’s fab four.
