Robbery suspect identified

Chico police investigators believe they have identified the man who robbed Sierra Central Credit Union last Thursday (July 29) in Chico.

Detectives are now on the lookout for Derek Pehrson, a Tehama County resident. According to a Chico Police Department press release, the suspect (pictured) was identified by an anonymous tipster who had seen surveillance footage from the robbery broadcasted on television.

Police say Pehrson is on parole and has multiple active warrants in Tehama County. The 33-year-old suspect is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

At the time of the robbery, he was sporting a short beard and mustache. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact CPD at 897-4941.
