River rides resume
Lomeli’s eco tours of the Sac are back
Henry Lomeli, eco tour guide and all around nice guy, has started up his seasonal boat tours showcasing the wonders of the Sacramento River.
Wildlife, such as otters, beavers and birds of prey, including bald eagles, abound at the river throughout the year. But spring and summer bring an amazing amount of migratory species: American pelicans, double-crested cormorants, and the yellow-billed cuckoo, just to name a few.
The tours range from casual half-day outings with light snacks to overnight campouts. Lomeli (pictured) also hosts evening excursions with gourmet dinner and dessert, including his signature and ultra-decadent chocolate molten cake.
Lomeli’s day job is wildlife biologist for the Department of Fish and Game, so he knows just about everything there is to know about the waterway. For information on the outings, visit www.sacramentoriverecotours.com.
