Remember Me
Ends Thursday, April 1. The story begins 11 years ago, in New York City, when a young Ally witnesses her mother’s murder, setting the tone for the film. Ten years later, Ally (Emilie de Ravin) is attending New York University, when a convoluted revenge scheme ends up sending the troubled Tyler (Robert Pattinson, Twilight) into her arms. The two when they discover each has lost someone close to them. This is not by a long shot the best romantic drama ever made, but the chemistry between the leads is believable, and makes it worth watching. As the young couple’s romance continues to blossom Tyler must also deal with his broken relationship with his father (a brilliant Pierce Brosnan). Pattinson’s acting is better than expected, now that he has the opportunity to showcase a wider set of emotions than we’ve become used to from the Twilight series. Some will find the ending contrived, but it’s memorable nonetheless. Tinseltown. Rated PG-13
