Recology rewarded for going green
Award is Oroville’s first
Recology Butte Colusa Counties was recently awarded for its efforts to reduce its environmental footprint, according to a Recology press release.
In late October, the solid-waste processing facility in Oroville received Sustainable Business Certification from the Sacramento Area Sustainable Business Program, a free program designed to encourage businesses to adjust their practices in six categories, including resource conservation, pollution prevention and energy efficiency. Recology implemented green measures in all six categories.
The company is the first in Oroville to receive the award. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Chico received the award in December 2009.
