Rape in the dorms

A Chico State student reported having been sexually assaulted in one of the school’s dorms early Sunday morning (Dec. 11), according to an email to the campus community from University Police Department Chief John Feeney.

The suspect is known, and believed to be a University Housing resident, the email reads. The incident is being investigated by University Police and the school’s Title IX office.

Annual security reports on campus crime indicate there were four rapes reported at the school last year, three of which occurred on campus.
