Rain drops fuel costs
Gas prices down in California and nationwide
Drivers can thank the gloomy weather for a plunge in fuel costs.
The retail price in California has fallen more than 3 cents per gallon over the last week to an average of $2.93 as of Monday (Feb. 8), according to CaliforniaGasPrices.com. That’s close to a 10-cent drop from one month ago.
Nationwide, prices have decreased an average of 6 cents.
Sweeter deals at the pump are good news to cash-strapped drivers, but the cost isn’t near as much as last winter’s bargain prices. One year ago this week, Americans paid an average of 76 cents less per gallon.
