Synchronized with many similar rallies across the country, about 500 people gathered at City Plaza in Chico in support of same-sex marriages and equal rights. The event, organized by Butte County Families for Equality, was dubbed “Our Families Count, Too” and followed the Nov. 4 approval of the proposition that redefined marriage in California to be only between a man and a woman.
