Prince of green
During a business conference in London last week, Prince Charles called for a war on the climate crisis, saying discussing the problem is simply not enough. He said he didn’t want his children or grandchildren to ask why he didn’t do something to make a difference when he had the chance, and he urged business leaders to reduce their carbon emissions.
Prince Charles, 58, has an organic farm and a line of products, Duchy Originals, that supports charitable causes. Earlier this year, to reduce the number of flights he takes, the heir to Britain’s throne canceled his regular skiing vacation in Switzerland.
A longtime environmental champion, the prince of Wales received an award for his efforts from Harvard Medical School’s Center for Health and the Global Environment in January.
