Man from El Salvador arrested for cultivation, more than 850 marijuana plants seized

During a major pot bust in Concow on Sept. 9, the Butte County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit seized a total of 863 plants on three separate parcels.

Upon serving a search warrant on property off Danville Circle, deputies arrested Jose Bladimir Reyes-Membreno, 26, of El Salvador, who allegedly was tending 503 pot plants on one parcel and 276 plants on another, according to a BCSO press release. Reyes-Membreno was charged with cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale, and taken to Butte County Jail with bail set at $100,000. On the third parcel, 38-year-old Ge Theo of Sacramento was arrested for allegedly cultivating 84 plants.

Septic, building, camping, water well and Measure A violations at all three locations are under further investigation by Butte County Code Enforcement.
