Planetree plaudits

For the first time since implementing its Planetree model of patient-centered care, Enloe Medical Center has honored three women with its Spirit of Planetree Awards. They went to (pictured, left to right) Judy Sitton, vice-chair of Enloe’s Board of Trustees; Nancy Ledoyen, RN, director of the Enloe Regional Cancer Center; and Dr. Marcia Nelson, the hospital’s vice president of medical affairs.

All three women have been instrumental in the hospital’s embrace of Planetree, an approach “that includes the use of technology, medicine and complementary healing with an emphasis on the human interaction, family and friends, education and information, architectural and interior design, the arts and health communities,” according to a press release.
