Perfect Stranger

Be it as it may, I’ve always liked Bruce Willis because he seemed to do Bruce Willis movies just to fund his forays into more interesting fare. Unfortunately, this time around he’s doing a Michael Douglas movie. Halle Berry spirals deeper into the post-Oscar vortex as a reporter who quits her job to go undercover as a temp to nail the cretin who murdered an old friend (sometimes I don’t even need to think about it when I write a synopsis for these things). In a thriller, all sorts of nasty surprises and revelations would ensue. Here, the only surprise is they didn’t just cast some unknowns and go straight-to-DVD with the wretched vehicle. The only reason I can think of why Douglas didn’t do this one is that he figured his time would be better spent shagging Catherine Zeta-Jones.
