Pair up, work out
Why workout buddies are beneficial
Unless you’re one of those hyper-motivated self-starters, finding a competent, positive workout buddy can help you stick to a routine. Here’s why:
• Time goes by faster. Adding a social element to exercise will help keep your eyes off your watch.
• You won’t skip workouts. Not wanting to let your buddy down will motivate you to find the time and energy—even after a long, busy day.
• You’ll get an outside perspective. It’s difficult to recognize personal gains; your buddy’s more objective view will help validate your progress and keep you motivated.
• You can celebrate successes together. Achieving goals can be more gratifying when they’re shared. Plus, it’s not cool to fist-bump yourself.
