A shooting a week in American schools

In the year and a half since the mass-murder shooting spree at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14, 2012, there have been another 74 school shootings in the United States. That’s an average of at least one shooting every week. The most recent was the June 10 shooting at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Ore., which left one student, as well as the shooter, dead.
