California sinks to the bottom
There was a time not so long ago when Californians would look upon such states as Mississippi and Alabama with pity because of their ranking near or at the bottom when it came to funding K-12 education. No more. After being decimated by more than $18 billion in cuts over the last three years, California’s schools now rank from 46th to dead last in several key funding categories, as this chart shows.
