Obamacare support languishes
Only one-quarter of Americans support the Affordable Care Act, survey finds
Enrollment in the Affordable Care Act recently topped 6 million nationwide, but support for President Obama’s health care law is at its lowest level since the legislation was passed four years ago.
An Associated Press survey founds that only 26 percent of Americans support the ACA, but even fewer—13 percent—think the law will be entirely repealed. The law’s requirement that all Americans must have health coverage or face a fine at tax time remains unpopular, while health exchange websites continue to be marred by technical issues. Of respondents who said they or someone in their household had signed up for coverage, 59 percent reported having technical difficulties.
House Republicans have already made more than 50 attempts to repeal, defund or scale back the ACA, while Democrats have begun a campaign with a message of fixing the law to make it work better.
