Not just sweets
Americans are shelling out dollars this Halloween
Halloween is big business. Just look at all the decorations on your neighbors’ houses and the costumes on kiddies and adults alike on All Hallow’s Eve. According to the National Retail Federation, spending on Halloween will reach an estimated $8.4 billion this year. That’s an all-time high, based on the trade association’s annual survey. Among the findings: 171 million Americans will celebrate the holiday, their average spending will run $82.93 and 7 out of 10 consumers will hand out candy. In other words, there will be plenty of treats (and money) to go around.
