Nice rice

Lundberg Family Farms has been recognized for its ongoing conservation efforts.

The Richvale-based growers of organic rice received the Agricultural Stewardship Award from the California chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) and Western Agricultural Services.

The stewardship award honors “excellence in conserving, maintaining and improving our natural resources and environment by using innovative and progressive business practices.”

“This award is especially meaningful to us because it’s presented to farmers by farmers,” Jessica Lundberg, a third-generation member of the family business, said in a recent press release. “We work hard to care for our land responsibly, and it’s gratifying when our farming colleagues take notice.”
