Don’t fence us out

Work on the Downtown Plaza Park’s extreme makeover continues as a backhoe moves more dirt this week. The timeline for the park’s big facelift began earlier this year, speeded up after some of the 20 stately elms that had stood for a century in the park started dropping their limbs. The fences should be gone and the park back open to the public by sometime next May.
