Idol life
Nathan Smith of Paradise reacts after making the first cut to represent the Northstate for Fox TV’s American Idol competition. About 25 wannabe celebrities put their golden throats to the test at the Fox TV studio in Chico for a chance to audition in Chicago and ultimately, Hollywood. Smith, a certified nursing assistant, slayed the judges with “My Everything” by 98 Degrees. He later told the CN&R, “Music completes me; it’s the only thing that satisfies me. I’m a nurse, but singing is what fulfills me.”
