The newest nighttime news anchor at KNVN went on air this week. She’s Kelli Saam, who comes to Chico from Lexington, Ky., with tons of experience, a broadcaster husband and two sons, ages 6 months and 4 years old. Saam, who worked in Santa Maria until 2003, said, “We missed California terribly.” As to why she’d leave the 62nd-biggest television market in the United States for the 131st, Saam said, “We wanted to find a place we could stay awhile. [Chico] is a great place to raise kids.”
