Fruits of their labor
Common Vision’s plan to plant more than 1,000 fruit trees at schools and community centers throughout California takes root next to the Torres Community Shelter in southeast Chico. The mission, according to the nonprofit’s brochure, “is to cultivate awareness and respect for the Earth and to generate social and environmental changes toward sustainable lifestyles.” On Friday, April 1, Vision members planted 40 trees at the shelter. From Chico they were headed to Mendocino.
