Kay Shane (right), a facilitator for the program Every Youth Included, and Emily Alma, executive director of its parent organization, Community Collaborative for Youth, were two of about 15 people present for the unveiling of a new mural on the side of the CCY’s headquarters on 925 Cedar St. The mural, which depicts a young man throwing a starfish back to the ocean, is drawn from a fable about one action making a difference. Shane, with design and planning help from local artist David Sisk and painting help from five children from EYI, finished the mural in two days in early June. Shane said, "I wanted to give the wall a facelift to show what we’re all about, which is acknowledging our differences and using them to bring us together."
