Nearly 100 people gathered last Thursday afternoon (Jan. 11) at the corner of Fourth and Main streets to protest President Bush’s Jan. 9 announcement that he intended to send an additional 21,500 troops to Iraq. Passersby in vehicles honked in support as the demonstrators help up their signs and waved. Enloe RN and union rep David Welch, front, was one of the organizers of the virtually spontaneous, e-mail-advertised event.
