Avocados are tasty and good for you
With the exception of possibly the tomato, the most delicious savory summer fruit is the avocado, and despite the bad rap about its fat content, the avocado is actually really good for you. In addition to being a decent source of protein (2 grams for half an avocado), the fruit is chock-full of fiber, vitamin C and vitamin K, and has more potassium than bananas. Additionally, half an avocado has only 2 grams of saturated fat! For more on avocados, see Chow, page 27.
