Chico branch of Butte County Library extends hours

The Chico branch of the Butte County Library has been closed on Mondays since July 2015. That’s going to change starting on Sept. 6, according to a county press release. The library will add 14 hours of operation each week—including on Mondays.

The additional hours were included as part of the 2016-17 budget approved by the county Board of Supervisors in June. The new hours are: Sunday, 1-5 p.m.; Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Friday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Each month, the Chico branch serves about 25,000 visitors and lends 45,000 materials. For more information on all six branches, go to www.buttecounty.net/bclibrary.
