Meth by the pound
Local agents seize more than $100,000 worth of the drug
Members of the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force and the Special Enforcement Unit of Butte County’s Sheriff’s Office arrested a second suspect allegedly affiliated with a recent large methamphetamine bust.
On Wednesday (April 20), agents picked up Carlos Barragan-Garcia, an undocumented alien and convicted felon who had previously been deported. He had an existing warrant on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales, being armed in the commission of a felony, and felony child endangerment, according to a BCSO press release.
Those charges stem from an early March arrest of Domingo Lagunas, another undocumented alien the authorities say is affiliated with the recent seizure of more than a pound of meth, several loaded firearms and more than $6,000 in cash in Oroville.
Barragan-Garcia was located in Gridley and found with an additional 206 grams of meth and nearly $900 in cash. Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs at $106,800.
